We know through recent revelation that the Wheel turns through the 24 signs in one year. Twenty-four years is a turn, and the same number of turns is a lesser turn. Twenty-four lesser turns is a greater turn, and each greater turn is known by particular events and aspects. These are recounted in dreamspeak under the collective appelation, Wheel Legend.
According to Wheel Legend, the entire story of the metaverse, its past and its future, is made up in the turning of the Wheel. The stories never cease to evolve as they are passed down through generations of dreamlings. It is a sacred source to the faithful, who believe that the oneiric influence of the turning of the Wheel transmutes Wheel Legend into the current reality. After some scrutiny, the faithful are prepared to accept revisions of these stories. It is an evolving dogma.
To foster its evolutionary nature, the Paradox Church prohibits its translation into oneiriscrit or any other written form. Transgressing the prohibition means to be outlawed.
Wheel Legend is supposedly recorded, however, on an enormous circular stone that makes up part of the base of the Obelisphere. It's called the Wheel of Greater Turns, and dreamlings believe it must somehow indicate the current greater turn. No one who has seen the inscription has been able to interpret its signs. The task is not facilitated by its mutability. Facsimiles of the inscription made at different times and by different artists rarely concur. It is thought to be written in a primordial form of oneiriscrit. So, while dreamlings are aware of the Wheel of Greater Turns, they don't know in which greater turn they are. Part of the experience of the metacampaign is figuring out in which greater turn we are.
