Dreamspeak
Dreamspeak is only a spoken language. It is never written. No alphabet is associated with its sounds. When one speaks in dreamspeak, he expresses meaning. When one hears dreamspeak spoken, he understands the meaning of it. It is a language, not of words, but of thoughts. It is used to communicate those thoughts to others. Dreamspeak is the common language of the Wheel. All dreamlings speak dreamspeak or one of its many dialects.
Oneiriscrit
Oneiriscrit is only a written language. It is not the written form of dreamspeak, however. Oneiriscrit can serve as a translation of the spoken language, but it is more often used to express a diverse array of complex thoughts upon which are built fundamental ideas, while practicing an economy of signs. Oneiriscrit is the script in which magic is recorded. An avatar trained in arcana or religion, or who has the ritual caster feat, can read and write oneiriscrit.
Dialects
Regional and thematical variations of dreamspeak exist. These are more difficult or nearly impossible for a dreamling to understand without training. Occasionally, ancient texts are discovered on the Wheel whose script is practically illegible or a complete mystery to a reader without skill in cypher.
After a period of exposure to the spoken or written language, an avatar can learn a variation of dreamspeak or oneiriscrit. Any variations of the spoken or written languages learnt by an avatar are added to the wakeling template.
