Direction and alignment are wound up together in the metaverse. On the wheel, there are radial and angular directions and their matching alignments.
Radial
These are the radial directions:
- The turning of the Wheel and the oneiric power so generated forces chaos outward to the Edge. This direction is called the tardif.
- Meanwhile, this same power draws law inward to the Axis. This direction is called the punctif.
These are the radial alignments:
- Chaotic evil seeks to ruin the workings of the metaverse and ultimately to destroy it.
- Lawful good strives to improve the workings of the metaverse and to permeate its existence.
Angular
These are the angular directions:
- The direction of the turning itself is called the eternal, and good flows in this direction.
- The opposite direction, against the turning, is called the ephemeral. In this direction flows evil.
These are the angular alignments:
- Good seeks to support the workings of the metaverse and to use those workings for the benefit of its inhabitants.
- Evil works to bend the workings of the metaverse to its own selfish ends.
